Wire rod is produced by drawing hot metal through shafts that tend to form and compress the metal from different sides. By turning a piece of metal into a long, thin wire through the rolling mill, the wire rod is wound on a special winder and then the rolling mill helps wire getting rolled into skeins for further cooling.
