Q. How does one repair a TYRE coupling?
Answer
The inner diameter of the rubber disk is flanged and the disk is vulcanized onto the flange. This flange can be used to attach a hub or a taper clamping bush. The rubber disk element is driven by inserting the driving teeth on its outside diameter into the outer flange. There is a positive transmission of torque from the rubber disk part to the outside flange. The outer flange of the kind used for shaft-shaft connection is fastened onto a flange hub that is in turn fixed on a machine shaft. The elastic rings have been fully assembled. After the hub has been installed the coupling halves may be bolted together.
