White light is not produced directly by LEDs. White light is created from LEDs in 2 directions as seen below: Fluorescence is a method that converts blue illumination to white light to use blue LEDs with a phosphate coating. White light is created by combining red blue and green LEDs. The intensity of the various blue green and red pieces is varied to generate white light.
