Q. How are magnetic needles made?

A magnetic rod is created by rubbing it with a magnetic lodestone (a naturally occurring magnetized material) which is suspended on a low-friction surface to permit to automatically align itself with earth’s magnetic field. This magnetic rod is known as magnetic needle.
