A bottle of liquid shoe polish will never go bad. When stored at room temperature liquid or cream-emulsion based shoe polishes can last for years. There is typically no expiration date on shoe polish. If properly stored their attributes will remain unchanged for a long period which is why a user will only see the date of production on the packaging. A wax shoe polish will lose its solvents if the tin is left open. The wax content is low (only 30%) whereas the solvent content is high (70%). The final component of nail polish is dyes which give the product its distinctive hue.
