Q. Can webcams be wireless?
Answer
Most Webcams are compatible with both wireless and cable connections to the network. While wired connections are easier to set up wireless ones allow for more freedom of movement. Indeed establishing a temporary wired connection is a required step in the process of preparing for wireless setup. A user can always revert to the wired connection if he/she is unable to get the wireless connection up and running. If a user is set on wireless connectivity he/she may wish to upgrade from older networking standards like 802.11a or 802.11b to more modern ones like 802.11g or 802.11n. Simply the Webcam and an Ethernet cord to link it to the network hub are required for setup.
