Q. Can using hand sanitizer regularly cause any side effect?
Answer
Hand sanitizers are normally used for sanitizing hands. However, excessive use may result in some harmful side effects. Since sanitizers are alcohol-based they tend to make the skin dry. It results in itchy or patchy skin and cause redness. Sometimes, excessive use may cause an eczema breakout. Alcohol-free sanitizers contain triclosan. Some studies have shown that excessive exposure to triclosan leads to disruption of hormone cycles in a few cases.
