Q. Can plastic cabinets be painted?
Answer
Take off any plastic covering that is coming off or is loose. Use sandpaper to reduce shine and blend the plastic finish into the wood. Cabinets need to be primed with bonding primer and given one or more coats (spray primer works best). Priming the surface with a spray primer and top coat designed for plastics allowing it to dry and then painting it will provide the best possible finish. Apply many thin layers of paint and wait for each to dry before adding more.
