Pistachios whether unroasted or roasted have a high-fat content—about 13 grammes which is equivalent to approximately 17% of the daily amount that is advised. However the majority of it is monounsaturated fat which is a kind of fat that is beneficial to one's heart and may help reduce one's levels of harmful cholesterol. In addition pistachios are an excellent source of protein; around 6 grammes are found in a single meal.
