After harvesting the leaves, these are gathered and immersed in the water tank. Once weighed down, these are left for the fermentation process to take place. Once the fermentation process is completed, leaves are removed and drained into another tank for carrying out oxidation process of the solution. The oxidation process settles down the sediment at the bottom of the tank from where the sediment powder is collected. Later, this powder, also known as Indigo Dye Powder, is dried and formed into cakes called as Indigo Dye Cake.
