How We Make Pencils?

Following are few steps that are followed for making our Velvet Pencils range that feature impressive quality:

In our factory, pencil blocks are made from wood, these are kept a bit longer than the normal pencil length. These are then given wax and stain treatment so as to have uniformity in their color and make wood of them has better machining & sharpening characteristics.

After this, a mixture of clay & graphite, called writing cores is placed in between the two slats/ grooves. Then glue is applied on the slats, and a slat sandwich is prepared which further held together and clamped till it gets dry.

Once the glues dries, on a shaper sandwiches are transferred, they are trimmed and machined into several shapes including round, hexagonal or triangular.

The pencils that are left with chipped wood, uncentered lead or any other defect are discarded during a series of quality tests.

Next step is, each pencil is covered with light velvet material and then desired finishing is given to it.
