Pipe sleeves are another option for making temporary repairs to pipes in order to prevent expensive shutdowns. When the thickness of the sleeve pipe is calculated well, it is possible to weld it right on top of the main pipe and have it perform the same function. Pipeline sleeves are often used in the process of making a provisional repair to a leaking pipeline. Reinforcement on the parent pipe is achieved by using full-encirclement pipe sleeves in the areas of the pipe that are deemed to be the most vulnerable. During hot tapping procedures, in which branch connections are removed from operational lines, they are also employed extensively. 

The majority of applications for cable and wire solutions include buildings and make extensive use of PVC pipe sleeves. In some circumstances, spacers are given to provide support for the pipe or pipeline that is housed within the pipe sleeve. This sort of layout with equidistant spacer supports is fairly popular for subterranean composite pipe systems (FRP and GRP piping systems) that are going over rail or road crossings. This type of setup may be seen in a lot of different places.

Because there is no way for heat to move around inside of a vacuum, the load inside of the chamber must make direct contact with a hot surface in order to be heated or dried. The heat may be transferred from the side walls to the sliding shelves here, or the carrier plates and shelves can be heated directly. A consistent temperature may be maintained throughout the space using air jackets because the heat generated by an air chamber that surrounds the interior helps maintain the temperature. Having said that, this process is rather time-consuming.
