In water jet cutting ultra high pressure water (> 3000 bar pressure) mixed with abrasive sand is used to cut a material. This technique is a cold cutting process meaning there is no heating of the material involved in this process. Due to this there are no thermal stresses in the material and the cutting finish obtained is also very accurate. The biggest advantage of water jet cutting is that with the same set-up, the mechanism can be used to cut different materials. hence, water jet cutting provides great versatility to cut different kinds of materials with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
