Birth Control & Oral Contraceptives.

Norethisterone works by altering the lining of the uterus. The low-dose contraceptive changes the lining of the womb and so prevents esent in the body) on womb lining, stabilizes this lining and decreases pain and bleeding during the periods or delays the periods. Continuous exposure to norethisterone decreases the rate of growth of breast cancer cells.

Dosage

To be taken by female patients. Always follow the instructions of doctor regarding the dosage and duration:

Oral contraceptive pill: 350 mcg tablet.
Pre-menstrual symptoms: 5 mg, two or three tablets a day from the 19th to the 26th day of your menstrual cycle (counting the first day of your period as day one).
To treat abnormal, heavy or continuous bleeding during periods: 5 mg tablet, three times daily for ten days.
To prevent abnormal, heavy or continuous bleeding during periods OR treat prolonged or heavy periods: 5 mg tablet twice daily from the 19th to the 26th day of your menstrual cycle (counting the first day of your period as day one).
