Connectors arewell-formed and machined stainless steel or brass connector to be attached to a
pipe or wire, cable, or piece of hardware. It contains unshielded steel
equipment and constructed in such a way that it can be inserted snugly into a
receptacle (female connector) to ensure a reliable physical or electrical
connection. The most common male connector is a two or three prong plug
attached to the end of the cord for an electrical appliance. Other common
examples include the plugs for headsets, most connectors on the ends of lengths
of coaxial cable, and the edge connectors on some printed circuit cards. In
plumbing system, connector tends to connect with another pipe to lengthen its
size, or changing its direction to suit the industrial purpose. The connectors
are used for developing pipes that carry water, chemicals, flammable gases,
slurries, and other plumbing substances. These connectors vary in shapes and
thread sizes to connect, adapt, or control any liquid or gas in pipes.
In industrial
setting, connectors act as joining equipment to connect two ends of a pipe.
Connectors or pipe fittings are meant to attach one pipe to another in order to
lengthen the run or change the flow direction in a plumbing system. These
connectors are used to combine, divert or reduce the flow of the water supply.
They are manufactured in a variety of sizes to fit the pipe they are supposed
to connect. Most of the connectors are made of stainless steel that offers them
the toughness, durability and perfection in all the industrial applications or
plumbing system.

FAQs Related to Connectors
There are two
types of pipe connections: compression connection and slip connection. While
compression coupling is regular connection, which is connected between two
pipes and it prevents leakage by the arrangement of gaskets or rubber seals on
both sides, slip connection is employed to fix long length damaged pipe. It
contains two pipes that are arranged as one into other, inner pipe can slide up
to some length.
Union is a type of
connector or fitting that works like coupling except for the fact that coupling
cannot be removed after fixing. In case of union, we can remove it whenever we
desired so. Unions consist of nut, male and female ended threads and they
useful for maintaining purpose of pipe.
Elbows are
connectors that can be used to change the direction of flow between two pipes.
They are commonly available with an angle of 22.5o, 45o and 90o. If pipes are
of same diameter then normal elbows are used otherwise reducer elbows are used.
Water Barrier
Connectors are used for water retaining purpose between concrete walls, to fill
any cracks which exist.
