Delivery condition: EAF, Hot rolled, Black surface, Prehardened Hardness 28 a 34HRC
Plastic mould steel with excellent polish ability properties, good wear resistance, contains 1 % Ni alloy in addition to 1.2311, because of the Ni addition there is no hardness decrease in the center of large sizes over 400 mm thickness, easy to machine, requiring no heat treatment, 280 - 325 HB hardened and tempered condition. Suitable for nitriding, welding, hard chrome plating, photo etching and flame hardening.
Heat Treatment:
Annealing : 710 - 730 A C
Hardness after annealing : Max. 240 HB
Stress relieving : Approx. 600 A C
Hot forming : 1050 - 850 A C
Hardening : 870 - 890 A C
Quenching media : Oil, Salt bath, Vacuum
Hardness after quenching : 50 - 54 HRC
