Cotton Gown

Cotton Gowns are typically loose outer garments that range in length from knee to full length and are worn by women. The term "cotton gown" referred to any full-length woman's garment with a bodice and attached skirt. A modern cotton gown can refer to a variety of garments. Mermaid Gown: The skirt of this gown is fitted at the hips and thighs but flares out from the knees. This is accomplished by cutting flared panels or attaching a different fabric from the knees. The gown is also referred to as a trumpet gown.

A-Line Gown: The gown has a fitted bodice and a gentle flare from the waist to the skirt hem, creating the shape of a capital letter A. Because this is usually accomplished with princess line panels, it is also known as a princess line gown.

Bustle Gown: This is a vintage-style gown with an additional attachment added to the back of the gown (where the bodice meets the skirt)a usually a train or gathered fabric that gives the illusion of fullness at the back. It is typically tied with a bow on top.

Bias Cut Gown: This gown is cut with the true cross grain/bias of the fabric, so it fits the body perfectly and has a good drape without adding volume at the waist or hips, as well as being close-fitting at the hem. The skirt fabric has a fluidity and body-hugging fit that makes this gown very appealing on most body shapes.
