The transformer cooling system differs as per the type of model. In most cases, dry-type transformers are used to handle low and medium voltages; however, when there is a requirement to handle high voltage having higher capacities then in that case, oil cooled transformers are designed to use. It entirely depends on the need and according to that these transformers installed. Air cooled transformers (dry type) use surrounding air to lower the heat; whereas oil cooled transformers are used to dissipate heat.
