Clay is a kind of soil formed by the disintegration of rocks due to weathering. Uses of Clay

Kiln - The clay is fired in a kiln, a massive, hot furnace. To make your clay permanent, you'll need to burn it in a kiln. A kiln may achieve temperatures as high as 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. At home, your oven may reach 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Earthenware - It is the sort of clay that is commonly seen in classrooms. It's available in white or red, and it's burned at a temperature of around 1000 degrees Celsius (1830 degrees Fahrenheit).

Slip - It is liquid clay, which is clay that has been diluted with a large amount of water. It's a type of clay utilized in pottery (poured into molds). It's also occasionally used to keep clay pieces together as adhesive. To keep pieces of clay from falling apart in the kiln, you'll need to apply slip to "fasten" them together.

Leather-Hard - It is clay that has been cured for a few hours. To the touch, it should be somewhat chilly.

Greenware - Greenware refers to dried clay ready to be burnt in a kiln. Depending on the thickness of the sculpture, clay should air dry for about a week.

Bisque - It is the first time the gun has been fired. Clay is normally burned twice in a kiln once you've reached a lower temperature (the bisque firing).

Glaze - It is used to adorn liquid-holding clay. It's simply ground-down "liquid glass" or glass particles (combined with colors or pigments). Glaze melts at a high temperature and solidifies into the coats seen on completed ceramics.
