Manufacturing Process

LABs are produced from paraffins derived from hydrotreated kerosene feedstock. It undergoes a HF n-paraffin process which dehydrogenates n-paraffins to mono-olefins followed by benzene alkylation using a highly selective and active HF catalyst. The process involves a PACOL stage that converts n-paraffins to mono-olefins. The DEFINE unit which converts residual diolefins to mono-olefins and a PEP unit which allows a selective removal of aromatics before alkylation with benzene using HF catalyst to enhance LAB yield and quantity.
