Mechanism of Butterfly Valve is nearly similar to Ball Valve. When the valves are closed, the disc turns so that it completely blocks off the passageway. When the valve open, the disc is rotated on a quarter turn so it allows smoothly passage. . Butterfly Valve are usually used in case of quick shut off. Butterfly valves are usually lower in cost & lighter in weight than other valve.
