Bio-filter For Odor Treatment

Bio-Filter is used to treat emission of odors and volatile organic compounds. It is a sustainable, green technology, which generates no harmful by-products and exhibits low investment and operating costs.
PRD Techa s biomedia is an inorganic-organic media which has a very high surface area. It does not have any of the disadvantages of the polyurethane or inorganic media, and has many advantages, including the following:
(1) Guaranteed to last more than 10 years, against chemical deterioration and clogging;
(2)Gas-phase pressure drop is guaranteed to not increase over at least 10 years, if PRD Techa s nutrients are used;
(3) Gives high treatment efficiency for hydrogen sulfide and reduced sulfur compounds, which are the main cause of the odors;
(4) Low bulk density, which lowers the total weight of the system;
(5) Ability to distribute the water effectively, thereby preventing channeling within the media; and
(6) Does not require 6-10 weeks of acclimation time to grow the biomass before high efficiency is attained; PRD Techa s Biofilters start-up with high treatment efficiency and are able to handle rapid increases in inlet gas odor levels, typical for lift stations.
