These laces are either machine made or hand woven by using different yarns namely cotton, linen, polyester, wool, gold, silver etc. Woven laces are stitched onto attires, home furnishing fabrics and other similar items to give them an elegant & sophisticated look.

Methods used for designing Woven Laces :

Different weaving methods or techniques that are used for creating woven laces are as follows:

Needle point weaving technique - In this method, design is drawn on parchment that is backed with the fabric, generally linen. Then, the lace is made by filling in the pattern with button hole stitches using single thread and needle

Bobbin weaving technique - This weaving technique is done using pillow and number of needle. First, patterns are drawn on the fabric, then it is placed over the pillow. Small pins are stuck into the pillow along the design and a large number of small bobbins of thread are manipulated around the pins to produce the lace

Crochet weaving technique - This method is done with crochet hooks to form a series of loops. Each loop is then finished with a fine stitch, working usually with specially twisted cotton thread.

Knotted weaving technique- This method is done by twisting and knotting threads by using a small shuttle
