Spandex Laces

Spandex, popularly known as lycra or elastane is basically a synthetic fiber which is very popular owing to it's exceptional elasticity. It's durable and much more stronger than natural rubber. These are generally machine made fabrics, made by using elastic synthetic fiber spandex. Invented in 1958, these are used for designing athletes' and gymnasts' outfits due to their elasticity which allows free body movements without any restriction.

Spandex fabric is also blended with nylon, polyester and other fabrics for uplifting the quality and the texture. Various antioxidants are also added to these to protect against light degradation. Earlier spandex laces were only white in color but now-a-days colorants are added to enhance their aesthetic appearance. For adding color, dispersed and acid dyes are used across the globe.

Characteristics

Can be stretched repeatedly for a very long time and still elasticity will be the same.

Stronger with higher retractive force than natural rubber.

Lightweight and very soft to wear.

Smooth, supple and doesn't cause discomfort.

Prevents bagging and sagging of body.

Dyeable and does not break down when exposed to body oils, creams, perspiration, soaps and detergents.

Tear proof and wrinkle resistant.

Maintenance :

To retain elasticity for a longer duration, do not use high heat mode for pressing these laces

Do not use chlorine bleach

Set your iron to nylon mode

Use cold or luke warm water for washing purposes

Rinse thoroughly

Drip dry recommended

In case you are drying in machine, use low temperature
