Solubility: Soluble in water with orange yellow color gives magenta red soln & Precipitate on addition of HCL or remains unaltered on addition of Naoh, how ever gives yellow precipitate with excess sol in ethyl alcohol. Moderately sol in ether, bebzene & cello solve. Slightly sol in acetone. Sol in con H2so4 with violet color which on dil turn magenta red and give precipitate. Blue sons with con Hno3 which turns orange.
Application : For dying & printing of jute, wool, nylon & silk. Other uses are in paper, wood stains, Leather, biological stain & indicator (ph 1-3).
