Sona mine was established in the shape of Om & Company in the year 1969 in the heart of Kolkata. Om happens to be the most inspiring and divine word. It involves the spirit of GOD. Mr. Suresh Gupta was very much aware of it when he named his concern âÂÂA ÂÂA Om & CompanyâÂÂA ÂÂA . The creator (GOD) has given him the brand âÂÂA ÂÂA SONAâÂÂA ÂÂA . Om has given SONA to Mr. Suresh Gupta with the blessings of his father Sri G.K. Gupta who had encouraged him to explore the creativity associated with Om. Since then, SONA has become synonymous with each and every part of a bicycle. Years of life of SONA is a mixed bag of experiences; sweet and sour. Even after this, the company did not lose faith in itself and increased its strength from hurdles to hurdles. In 1989, SONA expanded its wings to Ludhiana and now, the wings are expanding from India to other countries to cater to the demand of the consumer. In 1994, SONA shifted its head office from Kolkata to Ludhiana and opened up a branch in Kolkata to cater to the increasing demand of SONA products. In order to move with the brand, Om & Company gave its way to Sona Cycle Industries in the year 2010.Sona group of companies includes its parent company Sona Cycle Industries, Sona Cycles Pvt.
