Q. Do waterproof speakers work underwater?

Despite their name waterproof Bluetooth speakers are not meant to be submerged in water for extended periods of time. However the IPX certification assigned to most Bluetooth waterproof speakers will tell a user how exposed the speaker is to various elements. A speaker with an IPX0 rating is completely waterproof whereas one with an IPX8 rating can be submerged in water up to 8 feet deep for an extended period of time. Whether or if someone requires a speaker that is waterproof or one that can tolerate being fully submerged in water is a personal preference that should be taken into account when making a buyer purchase.
