A dome-shaped tent may withstand wind better than a cabin-shaped one because of its improved aerodynamics. Tents with a low profile and sloping walls in the center will withstand the wind better than those with a higher peak. There are general-purpose tents and tents made for very harsh weather. Canvas is extremely durable, but it is also quite heavy, which is why it is typically reserved for usage in family cabin tents and swags. Whereas nylon is lightweight and durable, polyester is thicker and bulkier. They're both typical choices for dome tents. Think about whether a user wants to go or not.
