Appearance: The sample is a reddish-brown amorphous powder with a slight characteristic odor. Its solution is acidic when tested with litmus paper.

Solubility: The sample is soluble in water and alcohol, but practically insoluble in chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, hexane, and acetone.

Identification:
Test A: When tested, a deep blue color is produced, indicating a positive result.
Test B: A brown, dry, non-smearing film is formed, which readily dissolves in water, also indicating a positive result.
Iodide (ODB) content: The specification limit is Not More Than (NMT) 6.6%, but the actual result is 3.38%.

Loss on drying: The specification limit is NMT 8.0% for moisture loss, but the sample shows a loss of 4.60%.

Residue on ignition: The specification limit is NMT 0.025% for the residue after ignition, but the sample has a residue of 0.016%.

Nitrogen content (ODB): The specification range is 9.5% to 11.5%, and the sample contains 10.61%.

Assay (ODB): The specification range is 9% to 12% as I (Iodine), and the sample has an assay value of 10.79%.
