Types of mixtures:

Argon: This is typical gas used where a very static gas is required, predominantly where diatomic nitrogen is not adequately inert, or when low thermal conductivity is necessary. It can also be used as an inert gas shield in various forms of welding that includes metal inert gas welding as well as tungsten inert gas welding.

Helium: This gas is very light even lighter than air, and has the advantage over hydrogen. It can be used for balloons, blimps, airships, and for inhalation to make a shrill voice.

These are available in gaseous form, which can also be used as:

A protective gas in growing silicon and germanium crystals and
producing titanium and zirconium
