Frequency to current converter is an ideal device for transmission of speed signals generated by devices like proximity switches, encoders. The pulses received from proximity switches are converted to suitable form with isolation.

These converters find use in process control industries for signal isolation. Variety of models is available for specific applications.

The sensor can be proximity switch, magnetic pick up or encoder which is fitted on the equipment and produces pulses. I / P frequency range depend on the speed of the equipment. These pulses are processed at frequency converter and suitable output generally 4-20 mA is produced. The O/P is isolated to provide further isolation of field signal so that instrument / PLC side is isolated from field side.

The converters are housed in din rail mounting engineering plastic enclosure. Special robust cast Al. enclosures suitable for field mounting are also available.
