Its particular but simple geometry produces a highly turbulent mixing between a gas and liquid leading to the generation of a spray of extremely fine droplets. Basically, the nozzle consists of capillary tubing aligned with an orifice placed in front of and at a certain distance of its tip. The liquid is supplied through the capillary tubing and a pressurized gas surrounding its tip generates a spray that goes out through the exit orifice.
