A meat slicer is a device that slices meat and may be operated manually or electrically. Various food products, such as hard cheeses, cabbage, other veggies, etc., may also be cut into slices with this tool. It is possible to slice hot or cold meat in either a thin or thick layer. Cold, cooked meats are often sliced into tiny pieces for sandwiches using a meat cutter. There are two benefits to using a meat slicer at home. The first is that thin hand-cut slices cannot release the flavours and textures of meat as well as a professional slicer can. The second benefit is financial: purchasing a full piece of meat, cooking it at home, then slicing it for sandwiches yourself may save money. Pre-sliced meat from delis and supermarkets can cost three to four times as much.
