Electric cuff pressure gauge is designed to monitor cuff pressure for trachea cannula, tracheotomy cannula or duplex cavity bronchial cannula with high capacity and low pressure cuffs. It provides both real-time monitoring and digital display. Alarms will be generated when the lower or upper limit of cuff pressure is exceeded, thus reducing potential risks to patients. No human intervention is required as long as the cuff pressure is in its safety range, Which help reduce workload of clinical medical stuff. Operational Principle.

In general, the pressure inside the cuff should be maintained in the range of 20-30cmH2O.
Excessive pressure can lead to ischemic damage to the mucosa of the trachea, and the pressure is too low to obstruct the secretion into the lung bronchus. For patients with artificial airway, ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) is the most common and fatal complication, the incidence of which is 43.1% and the mortality rate is up to 51.6%. The contamination of the oropharyngeal secretions and the micro inhalation of the gastric contents is the main cause of the bacterial entry into the lower respiratory tract. Therefore, the VAP guidelines for prevention and control clearly refers to it. We should use intubation with suction device and continuously monitor and control the pressure inside the capsule to reduce the incidence of VAP.
