XiâAn International Halal Food & Trade Expo 2019 show will be held on 24-26 Oct 2019 in Xian, China.China has overtaken Japan to become the world's second-biggest consumer economy. Its US$3.3 trillion in private consumption accounts for 8% of the world total, and continues to grow. This growth brings with it a desire for better consumer goods, particularly from foreign suppliers which China consumers equate with quality.
There is growing demand for foreign consumer products such as chocolate, coffee and dairy. Where local brands are not trusted due to quality concerns, Chinese are willing to pay a hefty premium for foreign substitutes such as baby milk powder. In 2014, Chinese consumers spent US$798 billion on food and beverage, and this is projected to grow 11% to reach $1.5 trillion by 2020. China's 26 million Muslims contributed 0.1 percent or about $10 billion.
Shaanxi lies in Northwest China. It covers an area of over 205,000 km2 with about 38 million people. It is the most industrialized city in Northwest China. Muslims could be found in 104 counties and cities of Shaanxi Province, with the majority located in Xi'an and Xianyang.
