Q. What is cutting table?

A cutting table at a fabric shop is often a long table with a yardstick built into one edge and a large groove for scissors running across the middle. In the comfort of your own home the dining room table may be converted into a cutting station for your sewing projects. Be mindful however that if you don't have a table that was constructed for the sole purpose of serving as a cutting surface you should never cut fabric directly on the table without first protecting it with a cutting mat.
