As air can enter a wind tunnel from any direction that can cause non-uniform airflow a flow straightener provides a straight passage alongside the axis of the airstream at the entry-level for air to flow uniformly reducing the turbulence level in the wind tunnel. Also known as a honeycomb it may have circular square and regular hexagonal cells.
