The MIL sand & dust chamber is designed specifically to simulate desert environments for the testing of military equipment and devices. Inside the test space the dust is blown as per MIL-STD-810G Method 510.5 Procedure-I with a dust concentration of 10 + 7 g/m3 with air velocity of minimum 1.5 m/s up to 8.9 m/s. While the sand is blown as per MIL-STD-810G Method 510.5 Procedure-II with a sand concentration of 0.18 g/m3 to 2.2 g/m3, with an air velocity of 18-29 m/s. The sand and dust feeders are automatically controlled based on the dust concentration level set in the controller. The air velocity is controlled using a VFD. The humidity can be set to maintain <30% RH. All these parameters can be programmed using the envicom Graphite colour touchscreen using Siemens SIMATIC controllers.
