Kyprolis (Carfilzomib) Injection is a prescription intravenous therapy for adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, particularly after one to three prior treatments including proteasome inhibitors and immunomodulatory agents. It is a second-generation proteasome inhibitor
that causes the accumulation of damaged proteins in malignant cells,
triggering cancer cell death while sparing most normal cells.

Administered by intravenous infusion
over 1030 minutes, Kyprolis is typically dosed twice weekly during a
three-week cycle each month; dosing may vary based on combination
therapy used. Common side effects include fatigue, anemia, thrombocytopenia, nausea, dyspnea, diarrhea, cough, insomnia, and hypertension. Serious but less frequent adverse events can include acute
renal failure, tumor lysis syndrome, infusion reactions, cardiac or
pulmonary toxicity, thromboembolism, liver injury, and thrombotic
microangiopathy.

Kyprolis must be administered under
medical supervision with appropriate pre-medications, hydration
protocols, and ongoing monitoring for safety and efficacy in a
specialized hematology-oncology setting.
