Motor With Dc Fail Safe Brakes

A.C. Disk Brake are very compact and modern in design are directly mounted on the motor hence no foundation is required. There are iron plates and liners disk square hole in the center. It is keyed to be motor shaft and the liner disk is free on the square shaft. With spring pressure, liner disk is gripped between two plates, On supplying current to the brakes, electromagnet attracts pressure plate against spring pressure thereby releasing the liner disk. Thus brake is off. After settlement of brake, it doesn't not require any adjustment and maintenance. As friction liner weeks then airgap is required to be maintained periodically.
