This fabulous Arts and Crafts antique wardrobe is constructed from pollard oak (looks similar to burr walnut), is of magnificent quality and dates from around 1880. The piece oozes style and quality, being constructed from the best possible grade of timbers, displaying exquisite carvings from a true craftsman and exhibiting fabulous brassware. Its unusual design leads us to believe it was a custom made piece and although having a grand appearance it does have deceptively attractive proportions. The moulded cornice sits above an unusual half round moulded frieze below which can be found two small cupboard doors and a wardrobe door. The small cupboard doors display amazing intricately carved panels, moulded edges and have the original brass handle. The lower section has a two over three drawer configuration all with moulded edges and the original ornate brass handles. To the right the wardrobe door has the original bevelled mirror, a brass handle and reeded sides. The interior contains a single removable shelf, a hanging rail and hooks. Both sides of the wardrobe are panelled while the left side also benefits from an original fitted rail with hooks.
