Dear Editor, |
I really doubt if India is really in an enviable position as you have mentioned. Moreover when you said Wait till 2020, I was not sure if you were sarcastic or positive. However I would like to think that you meant India will be in a better postion than what it is today. |

Hi Bikky, |
Kamal Nath's statement on FTAs was no doubt in the lines of the thought process of India Inc. However, I think what India should see is that it does not get into any agreement that goes against the interests of its traders. FTAs for the sake of political mileage will certainly hurt not only the economy but also the traders. It's high time India talk the talk and walk the walk; keeping all politics at bay. |

The recent arrest and subsequent release of Baazee CEO Avnish Bajaj in the Delhi Public School MMS case has stirred a hornet’s nest and has thrown up several questions in the race to find the guilty party.
With a draconian IT Act that remains to be updated and conforming to the order of the day, such an arrest would have several legal implications. This could even change people’s perception of doing business in the area of internet technology in India.
As a CEO of a portal is he concerned with all the buying and selling by third parties? How is Bajaj's custody justified? Was his custodial interrogation necessary? These are the questions that are to be answered too.
Was Baazee the victim of its own Frankenstein? The online bazaar is indeed a technological marvel that gives maximum freedom to the user. But it was overlooked - unknowingly or on purpose - that certain unscrupulous elements did misuse the mileage provided.
The coming days will see a whole lot of reactions pouring in. Who is right and who is wrong; let’s leave it for the judiciary to decide. What I feel is that we must pledge to keep these ugly incidents at bay. Further, the judiciary too has to make amendments in its pre-historic act to tighten the noose around these criminals, whosoever, in the best democratic manner.
