Our Heat Strengthened Glass when an Annealed Glass is heat-treated under controlled thermal conditions, Heat Strengthened Glass is produced. The Furnace, in which this glass is heated, has a temperature range of 590 to 815 degree Celsius. The glass is heated for a specified time and then air-cooled immediately. The heating has its effect but the strength comes due to sudden cooling. The sudden cooling causes a compression that envelops the glass surface and the edges. This is supplemented by the tensile stress in the glass. This balance of stresses in the glass increases the strength of glass. The most important factor of this heat strengthening is that when broken, the glass shows lesser cracks and breaks in comparatively smaller pieces that also adhere to themselves or the frame. The strength of Heat Strengthened Glass is 2-3 times that of Annealed Glass.
