The safety Propak- FX will be a type – 2 open circuit, self contained, compressed air breathing apparatus. It will consist of an adjustable back plate, padded carrying harness and pneumatic system with containing cylinder connector, reducer, pressure gauge, whistle and demand valve. The Propak-FX will be configured in a number of different ways with various size single cylinders. There will also a range of variants available including Airline (AC), split demand valve (SDC or Y2C), quick connect option or duo variants. The Propak- FX will be used in conjunction with range of composite or steel cylinders and the choice of Vision 3, Vision AMS or Promask PP facemask. The Propak- FX will be specially designed as a professional adjustable fire fighting SCBA, but will be also suitable for providing respiratory protection in any IDLH environment. The entire Propak range will have been approved to EN137:2006 Type2, incorporating the stringent full flame engulfment test, and to the 9th amendment of the MED meaning it will have the latest approval for the Marine industry. 1) TEMPEST DEMAND VALVE: The compact positive pressure demand valve will be featuring with servo assisted; tilting diaphragm mechanism provides peak flow performance in excess of 500 ltr/min, which will be providing static positive pressure till 1.0 to 4.0 mbar, low required inspiratory resistance and responsive dynamic performance. The demand valve will reduce features by automatic first breath actuation and hands free bypass facility, which provides of normal flow of air 150L/m. The demand valve components will be injection moulded from polyamide and acetyl with rubber seals and diaphragm.
2) REDUCING VALVE: The first stage pressure reducing valve will be featuring of non adjustable. The pressure reducing valve will have spring loaded piston mechanism and outlet supply protected by pressure relief valve. The reducing valve will have been plated by nickel brass and stainless sleet. The internal reducer valve shall have flow restrictor to supply hose which will limit the airflow up to 25L/m. the cylinder connector shall accept both 200 and 300 bar cylinders and which inlets pressure by 5.5 to 9.5 bar to 6.0 to 11.0 bar that shall be joined to flexible and protected hose which connects to the ‘U’ ring and ‘O’ ring connections. The reducer will have pressure relief valve that operates to protect approximately by 13.5 bars.
3) PRESSURE INDICATOR AND WARNING WHISTLE: The unit shall feature a 300 bar pressure gauge to monitor cylinder pressure at the input of the first stage reducer. It will feature a luminous dial, indicating 0-350 bar. The gauge shall be shoulder strap mounted and capable of being pulled close up to the facemask for use in poor visibility. The gauge shall be equipped with a blow-out vent and the gauge shall feature a rubber shroud for impact protection. It should incorporate a low pressure warning alarm that will operate at 55 bars.
4) HOSES: The medium pressure air supply hose is made of chlorinated polyethylene, fabric braid reinforcement and nitrile liner and the high pressure air supply hose is made of PTCFE liner, stainless steel braiding and estane sleeve. The HP air supply hose fitting is plated with Nickel brass. The medium pressure hose works with maximum 16 bars and minimum burst with 80 bars, and high pressure hose works with maximum 450 bar and minimum burst with 800 bar. Different high and medium pressure hose connections are ensure with foolproof assembly and swivel fittings.
5) CYLINDER AND VALVA ASSEMBLY: Cylinder: The cylinder should be of fully wrapped carbon fibre composite construction 9 ltr / 300 bars with time duration of not less than 60 Minutes based on a nominal breathing rate of 40 liters per minute. The specification of the cylinder should be in accordance with The PED and the cylinder should be CE marked and CCE Nagpur approved.
