Miilux Abrasion Resistant Steel Products for Hard UseMiilux abrasion resistant steel is used for manufacturing diff erent components and plates for targets requiring high abrasion resistance. Miilux products are available in plate thickness of 5 - 120 mm. The maximum width of the plate is 2,500 mm and the maximum length is 6,100 mm. The typical behaviour of Miilux products in thermal treatment is described in more detail in the Datasheet and Manual for abrasion resistant steel users.Welding and flame cuttingMiilux 400 is well-suited for welding. The use of Miilux 500 is more restricted in terms of minimum and maximum welding energy.Elevated working temperature is required for Miilux 400 if the plate thickness exceeds 40 mm and for Miilux 500 if the plate thickness exceeds 20 mm.Recommended working temperatures are listed on the table. The preheating temperature should be a minimum of 70% of working temperature, and the finishing temperature should not exceed the recommended working temperature by much more than 30%.MachiningMiilux 400 is reasonably well-suited for machining with high speed steel and hard metal drills. Miilux 500 can also be machined with reasonable machining values.Free bendingThe bending radius values used when bending Miilux products must be as high as possible. Good workshop technology, condition of tools and careful planning are of major importance in bending. Bending instructions for plates less than 20 mm in thickness can be found in the Datasheet.
