Vertical Spiral Bevel Gear Cutting Machine

The vertical bed concept of the Oerlikon C 29 and the direct drive for the tool and workpiece make them eminently suitable for the modern dry-cutting of spiral bevel and hypoid gears with coated carbide blades. The application range is designed for gear sizes used in passenger cars or small trucks.

The C 29 is exclusively intended for dry-cutting. All common spiral bevel gears can be manufactured extremely economically with the C 29 using the single indexing or continuously indexing method in conjunction with the Oerlikon ARCONR and SPIRONR high-performance tools. The increased process capacity inevitably increases the chip quantities to be disposed of, a challenge for the design and housing of the machine tool. The answer to these boundary conditions is the vertical design of the C29: All chips fall into the swarf conveyor beneath the gear cutting point, guided by the funneled inner panels.
