Top Nickel Flanges Manufacturers, Suppliers & Exporters in India

A flange is one of the piping components that is used for connecting shaft to shaft, between pipe ends, or between two pipes of different diameters. Flanges can be welded onto or threaded with pipes. Two flanges are connected by bolting them with gaskets sandwiching. Nickel alloys are non-ferrous metal-containing different amounts of nickel content with small amounts of other elements including manganese, silicon, sulfur, copper, chromium, molybdenum, cobalt, iron, and carbon. Nickel alloy possesses high durability, toughness and strength, exceptional corrosion resistance, and superior extreme temperature properties. Therefore, nickel flanges are used in power generation, condensers, heat exchangers, high-pressure transfer, and other piping systems with high temperature, corroding, and pressure working conditions.

Flanges are manufactured from different materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex steel, super duplex steel, titanium, Monel, Inconel, Hastelloy, nickel, and cupro-nickel. However, nickel alloys that are mostly used for manufacturing flanges follow the code ASTM B564 /ASME SB564, which specifies two types of nickel alloys, that is, Nickel 200 and Nickel 201. These nickel alloys contain a very high content of nickel and a small amount of cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, carbon, silicon, and sulfur. Because of their very high nickel content (a minimum of 99%), flanges made from these pure nickel alloys are also called pure nickel alloy flanges or simply Nickel flanges. While other element contents are the same, carbon content differs with Nickel 200 limiting to 0.35% and 0.15 for Nickel 201. According to ASTM B564/ ASME SB564, the mechanical properties of the two pure nickel alloys are given in Table 1.
