Knowledge Based Engineering system aim to capture product and process information to allow businesses to model engineering processes, and then use the model to automate all or part of the process.
Knowledge-based engineering (KBE) is a discipline with roots in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and knowledge-based systems.Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) is the process of capturing the Knowledge and can be re used for Design Activities to enhance solutions for a product during its entire life cycle. These knowledge bases can exist in many forms such as spreadsheets, handbooks, engineering formulas, drawings and documents, or in rules of thumb that are based on human judgment.
