The S 385 Color Scanner is predestined for demanding scanning applications in the mid-range segment and is the perfect addition to Microforms product portfolio, which is always focused on the highest standards of quality and performance. Cutting-edge camera design and the very latest imaging technology make the S 385 a powerful scanning station for economical converting of mixed documents of all types to full color, greyscale and bitonal images of outstanding quality. With a scanning speed of up to 80 A4 landscape pages per minute with a resolution of 200 dpi, the S 385 offers good performance for medium-volume applications. The S 385 has been designed for trouble-free handling of demanding documents. The paper transport system without any belts masters a wide range of paper grades and formats with minimal risks of paper jams or damage to valuable originals. The specially selected, long-life lamps illuminate the
scanning zone with light whose brightness is similar to daylight to provide optimum scanning quality while at the same time reducing energy costs. Its perfected production performance offers a high degree of flexibility and stability for larger production volumes, too. The short paper transport route and easy access to all parts of the transport system are crucial for high document scanning speeds and reliability. Additional process reliability is guaranteed by the perfected paper feed system in conjunction with the ultrasonic sensor for detecting double sheets. Stability, endurance and a low level of service and maintenance expenditure guarantee low running costs
compared with comparable rival products. A vital part of the S 385 are the two new camera units, which are prerequisite to producing outstanding scan results. These dustfree, encapsulated
components contain new Trilinear CCD cameras, combined with high-quality lenses from Rodenstock, Germany, and bloomed (anti reflection-coated) optical mirrors.
