"midlite" brand XLPE insulated power cables are manufactured in conformance with IS:7098 Part-I. XLPE insulated cables have a higher conductor temperature rating i.e. 90C as against 70C of PVC and hence, higher current rating. XLPE insulated cables weighs less and have a reduced diameter due to low density high insulation resistance. XLPE insulated cables have higher corrosion resistance in polluted atmosphere as compared to PVC insulated cables. XLPE insulated cables have better properties of resistance to chemicals and corrosive gases. XLPE insulated cables have a smaller bending radius and hence are convenient for laying, jointing & termination. XLPE insulated cables are not prone to fatigue damage due to vibrations and hot impacts. XLPE insulated cables suffers less deformation under combined heat & pressure and are therefore, ideal for transmission and distribution of power.
